What is it like to live in boquete panama
Boquete is an absolute must. The town is charming and doesn’t feel touristy. The weather is what we would consider ideal, slightly chilly with some rain but generally the sun is out and the days are warm. Also the hikes surrounding the town are stunning!! One of my favorite expats places.
I live in Alto Boquete – the north end is walking distance to downtown boquete panama (which is what most people think of when «Boquete» is mentioned) and is a $1.00 taxi ride if you prefer not to walk. It is (probably) a bit cheaper, but has the same wonderful climate.
You can find expat «groupings» or «mixed» neighborhoods, the neighbors behind you can be from the USA, on either side and in front are Panamanians who are WONDERFUL and can help you learn Spanish.
The internet is (generally) dependable, unless we’re having a power outage. More frequent but much shorter than in the USA.
Duolingo and some other «free» sites can help you learn basic Spanish; one of the absolute wonders of Panama is that the people here are happy that you are trying to learn, and will help you with learning. Being able to laugh at your mistakes will go a long way.

Therefore, we suggest you do more research and visit Boquete yourself before making a decision.
